Meet Ariana

Working as a therapist is a privilege.

My approach to therapy is built on mutual respect, the gold standards in evidence-based care, and a faith in the capacity of every individual to learn to live their most authentic, joyful, and healthy life.

How do I know this is for me?

Adults

  • Do you want to show up differently in your relationships?

  • Do you feel stuck in perfectionism and decision paralysis, or patterns of people pleasing and difficulty saying ‘no?’

  • Do you feel confused or disconnected from your feelings, identity, or why you keep behaving in ways that feel inauthentic or unproductive?

  • Do you have a complicated relationship with your parents that is impacting your adult life?

  • Are you overwhelmed by uncertainty, shame, or stress?

  • Do you want to feel more confident and capable?

Parents and Caregivers

  • Is your child struggling to regulate their big feelings at school or at home, or having difficulty processing change or transitions?

  • Does your child dread going to school suddenly?

  • Is your child dealing with social challenges with peers or family members?

  • Does your child struggle with negative self-talk and insecurity?

  • Do you want to feel closer with and more confident in supporting and parenting your child?

The pursuit of a more peaceful, authentic, and joyful life is always worthwhile. With great therapy you’re not alone.

What is “gentle therapy?”

While we often want change to happen quickly, sustainable transformation takes time. Gentle therapy doesn’t mean therapy that is coddling. Rather, it is a pragmatic and strategic approach using proven methods to help clients engage sustainably in the process of growth.

Gentle therapy meets you where you are, helping you to “bend not break.” As much as we may want ourselves or others to change quickly, meaningful learning can’t happen when we’re flooded. A gentle approach to therapy helps you or your child develop the capacity for managing distress without becoming overwhelmed. With support, you can build the insight and skills to face, and accept, the more difficult aspects of our experience. When kids, teens, adults, and parents feel respected, cared for, and empowered, they can learn and process what they need to create deep and lasting change. Therapy becomes a nourishing and empowering experience with benefits in the short and long-term.

How can someone be a good therapist for kids and adults?

Children, teens, and adults may show up differently in therapy, but we all share foundational emotional needs: understanding, space to feel, and confidence to face whatever life throws our way.

Supporting children keeps my work with all ages creative, attuned, and rooted in development science - and helps me to see the inner child within us all. Extensive training and experience across the lifespan allows me to recognize the patterns that develop early on and shape us into adulthood. All of the modalities I use emphasize attachment, mindfulness, and the mind-body connection, and help clients develop emotional insight and practical skills, no matter where they are in life.

Client Testimonials

“Ariana helped my daughter during a very challenging school year. My child came home everyday from school in tears and dreaded going to school each  morning. I did not know how to get us through this rough patch. Ariana provided a casual, relaxed environment to address big feelings and difficult situations. My daughter learned strategies she could use anywhere to de-escalate feelings of frustration and anxiety. These became tools she used in school and beyond, and often at bedtime to help herself unwind. She realized she could do hard things. She put words to feelings, and felt validated and understood.”

— Mother of client, Age 11

“Ariana has been such a calm and steady presence for our child. She has a special ability to understand what might be going on emotionally and to meet kids where they are, finding their creativity and connecting with them in a natural and safe way. She also genuinely listens to parents—taking our thoughts and concerns seriously—while providing practical tools, thoughtful advice, and clear guidance we can use at home and has made a real difference. I highly recommend Ariana as a play therapist.”

— Mother of Client, Age 8

“Ariana is my first therapist, and I feel like I hit the jackpot! Over the past year of seeing her weekly, she has helped me get to a place I never would have believed I could be. I used to struggle with weekly panic attacks and was constantly doubting myself and my life direction. Through therapy, my anxiety symptoms aren’t just gone, but I feel like I’ve found a deep sense of familiarity and peace with who I am. My mood swings are way less intense, but I’m also feeling things more fully, and I can communicate what I need confidently. Now I know how to take care of myself and my inner child with grace.”

— Client, Age 34
